DoseDraft Privacy Policy

This policy explains how DoseDraft handles data. DoseDraft is designed to be offline-first and store data locally on the clinic’s machine.

Last updated: 25 Mar 2026

Important: Clinic Responsibility
DoseDraft is a software tool to help generate and print prescriptions. You (the clinic/doctor) are responsible for the accuracy of prescriptions, compliance with local laws/regulations, and secure handling of patient data on your devices.
What data DoseDraft stores
  • Doctor profile (name, degree, registration/license number).
  • Clinic profile (name, address, phone, timings).
  • Prescription data: patient details you enter + medicines, timings, duration.
  • Medicine database you create (brand, category, dosage, etc.).
Where your data is stored
DoseDraft is designed to store data locally on the device (for example, in a local SQLite database file). By default, DoseDraft does not require internet access to function.
If you copy the device or database file, the data moves with it.
What DoseDraft does NOT do by default
  • Does not upload patient data to the internet by default.
  • Does not share data with advertisers.
  • Does not sell patient data.
  • Does not run diagnostics/analytics online unless you enable it in the future.
Future cloud features (only if you enable)
If you later enable cloud sync, backups, or multi-device access, DoseDraft may transmit data to your chosen server. When such features are introduced, you should review updated terms and configure access controls.
Cloud sync is optional. Local mode remains supported.
Data retention and deletion
  • Because data is stored locally, you control retention.
  • To delete data, remove records in the app or delete the local database file.
  • Before deletion, take a backup if you may need records later for compliance.
Security recommendations (to reduce legal risk)
  • Use a password-protected Windows user account on clinic machines.
  • Restrict physical access to clinic computers.
  • Use encrypted drives where possible (BitLocker on Windows).
  • Take periodic backups and store them securely.
  • Do not email/share the database file publicly; treat it as sensitive medical data.
Vendor disclaimers
  • DoseDraft is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation on all devices.
  • DoseDraft is not a substitute for professional medical judgement. Prescriptions should be reviewed by a qualified practitioner before printing.
  • Clinics are responsible for compliance with local healthcare, prescription, record-keeping, and privacy regulations.
  • In local/offline mode, the clinic is the data controller and is responsible for device security, access control, and backups.
Practical legal safety tip
Add a printed footer line on prescriptions like: “Digitally generated prescription. Verify before use.” This reduces misunderstandings and liability.
